Our Process
Gap Assessment We start by working with your team and assessing your current situation using the audit standard of your choice to determine where you are versus where you need to be. We conduct an audit that emphasizes teaching what the requirements are and then providing recommendations where corrective is needed. We provide a scored result based on hundreds of audits and auditors that our team has been involved with. We communicate your audit readiness to you.
Final System Audit We will perform a final audit of your food safety and quality system to build confidence with your team and ensure that all i’s have been dotted and t’s have been crossed. Our experience shows that a second set of eyes looking at both our work and your work benefits us all. The SFR Team works together on projects to ensure you have the best outcome possible.
Project Plan Development Based on the results of the Gap Assessment, we create a project plan detailing the work that needs to be complete prior to your audit. We meet to determine responsibilities for the tasks in the project plan. If you’d like assistance with just a few things or if you’d like assistance with the entire project, we work together to find the best solution for you and your budget.
Custom Policy and Procedure Development We learn more about your business and its operations. We take that knowledge and write an effective, compliant, and organized food safety and quality system by meeting you where you are today and meshing that with the requirements. We use continuous improvement as a guiding principle knowing that best practices, though wanted, may not always be possible. We find unique ways to implement programs that work for you. We will deliver a complete Quality Assurance Manual.
Implementation Phase This is where the rubber meets the road. We work with you and your team to implement every policy that has been developed. We lead the food safety team, assigning responsibility and ensuring its completion. Good Manufacturing Practices
Are you just getting started in food safety for your facility? Are you customers asking you for a food safety certification? If so, we can help. We will assign a SQF Consultant to your facility and work with you to implement a strong GMP program as your first step into food safety certifications. The bonus of having an SQF Consultant developing your programs? We will develop them with growth in mind. With the idea that even though you are starting with a GMP Certification, you will eventually move to a GFSI Certification, saving you valuable development dollars down the road!

HACCP
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Food Safety Systems are relevant for many different food products like meats, poultry, seafood and juices. We will work with your HACCP team to develop a plan based on the Codex Principles methodology. We will help you identify hazards and implement controls to reduce or eliminate them. We also perform public or private HACCP Training sessions.

Preventive Controls
The Food Safety Modernization Act requires all food manufacturers that are not under the HACCP Regulations must meet the Preventive Control regulations. Our consultants are prepared to help you understand the regulations and provide guidance in the development of food safety and foreign supplier programs. We also offer FSPCA courses in public or private format. These include: Preventive Control for Human Food and Foreign Supplier Verification Programs or FSVP.
